ASI is the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative, which translates to "Aluminium Stewardship Initiative" in Chinese. Is a global non-profit organization dedicated to the development and certification of aluminum value chain standards. At a time when industries around the world are focusing on sustainability, the organization brings together producers, users and stakeholders across the aluminum value chain to maximize aluminum's contribution to a sustainable society and promote responsible aluminum production, responsible sourcing and corporate governance.
Central to ASI certification is the review of two voluntary standards: the ASI Performance Standard and the ASI Chain of Custody Standard.
1.ASI Performance Standard (PS)
Environmental, social and governance principles and standards are defined to address sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain.
2. ASI Chain of Custody Standard (COC)
The ASI Chain-of-custody standard complements ASI's performance standards. The CoC standard specifies the requirements for setting a chain of custody for the flow of CoC materials, including ASI aluminum products produced through the value chain and processed for use in different downstream areas.
ASI currently has more than 340 participants worldwide, including representative manufacturers of bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminum smelting, semi-finished product manufacturing, aluminum products, component manufacturing, consumer and commercial products (including the automotive industry, construction and packaging), as well as selected trade associations and other supporters.
