The Global Organic Textile Standard is also known as GOTS. The Global GOTS standard for Organic Textiles aims to ensure that organic textiles are organic from the harvesting of their raw materials, through socially and environmentally responsible processing to labeling, thus providing consumers with products that can be trusted.
The Global Organic Textile Standard GOTS certification applies to the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labelling, trade and distribution activities of all organic natural fibre textiles. In some high-end markets, products certified by the GOTS standard are more popular, and exports to EU countries are relatively more favored by businesses in the EU market.
